Description

The CHCC Scholarship supports the next generation of Connecticut’s skilled trades workforce. Each year, the Connecticut Heating & Cooling Contractors Association (CHCC) awards scholarships to high school students enrolled in a CTECS HVAC program. 

This year CHCC will award five high school seniors, recognizing students who demonstrate a strong work ethic, technical aptitude, and a commitment to pursuing a career in the HVAC industry. Through this investment, CHCC and our sponsors are proud to support students as they continue their education, training, and entry into Connecticut’s vital HVAC workforce.

Five recipients will receive a well-rounded, CHCC Branded Apprentice Starter Box that balances must-have tools, safety, and professional readiness, the kind of kit that helps a first-day apprentice show up prepared, confident, and job-site ready ($1,000 Value).

Beyond the HVAC Apprentice Starter Kit, this scholarship initiative provides all five scholarship winners the opportunity to interview with a CHCC contractor, reinforcing the importance of professionalism, communication, and interview readiness for apprenticeship success. The top candidate emerging from this process will earn the $1,000 CHCC Scholarship, recognizing both technical interest and career readiness.

Please ensure the following items are submitted by the deadline:

  • Unofficial high school transcript
  • One letter of recommendation (may not be from your HVAC/shop instructor)
  • One of the following:
    • A 500-word essay, or
    • A 2-minute video
      addressing:
      Why you chose the HVAC program and where you see yourself in five years.

Incomplete applications or materials received after the deadline will not be considered.
